The transmitter produces the radio frequency pulses of energy that are then radiated across the detection zone to the receiver.

The shorthand abbreviation for transmitter is Tx.

The receiver captures the radio frequency waves and passes them to the on-board processor which determines whether the waves have been disturbed by an intruder while travelling between the transmitter and receiver.

The shorthand abbreviation for receiver is Rx.

The transmitter and receiver can be in the same device (e.g. in a 360degree scatter radar device) or at separate locations (as is the case with Sensurity’s point-to-point radar detection systems).
